Animal ID: A0910275Capitan the Dog (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Submissive
Health: Neutered

Age: Approx. 11 Months Gender: Male Kennel #A0910275 Personality / Description CAPITAN (A0910275) A volunteer writes: Capitan was surrendered to the shelter by his owner who has owned him for 8 mos and said he was too big for his small apartment......Yes, Capitan is a good size boy - slightly overweight and could lose a few pounds. He won my 'friendly dog of the day' award. Capitan is so thrilled to be outside, so thrilled to have a human to be with - he immediately went into the play position with me! Capitan's coat is healthy, shiny and lush - he was well cared for and was fed table food according to his previous owner. His owner ... (Read More)tells us that he is housetrained, loves other dogs, is ok with cats, and likes children. Capitan is playful and exuberant in his meeting other people. He jumps up to give kisses and hugs and will need to be trained that while it is nice to feel the love it is better not to be jumping. He needs some leash training as in his excitement to be outside he pulls a bit. Capitan sits on command and loves his treats. Capitan is a great dog - he is still only a puppy at 11 months, so needs someone to help him grow into the well behaved awesome grown up dog he is destined to be. He is sweet, loving and playful. What a great combination. Capitan is probably best in a home without small children simply due to his excitement in wanting to play with everyone. Animal ID: A0923215Mufasa (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Age: Approx. 1 Year Gender: Male Kennel #A0923215 Personality / Description Mufasa is another victim of the NYC Housing Authority ban. He is a gorgeous young dog who was friendly and tolerant during his medical evaluation. That says a lot, considering he is likely confused and the shelter is noisy and scary! Mufasa has striking, unique looks and a great personality! Go visit him at the Manhattan Center to find your new best friend today! https:// www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=366708040008748&set=a.161896683823219.39456.152876678058553&type=3&theater

Animal ID: A918484 Timothy (male)

Pit Bull    Age: Young Puppy

Left tied up in front of the shelter Timothy is an ... (Read More)emaciated 25 lbs. And despite his obvious hardship Timothy was delighted to have a friend, thrilled to be going out for a walk, tail wagging nonstop, showering me with kisses and hugs. Timothy is a lover boy, gentle, sweet, and a snuggler. He was happy to be in my lap, curled and cuddled, getting petted and talked to. Timothy appears to be housetrained, and walks well on the leash. I was amazed at how gentle and sweet this boy is, considering that he has not been treated well at the hands of humans. In addition to needing to gain a significant amount of weight, Timothy needs a warm secure home with plenty of love. Timothy still has the capacity to give so much, and asks so little in return. Please find it in your heart to give Timothy what he needs and to find his place in this world. DO NOT call and say you are adopting unless you are going to go down there and get the dog. It is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone, for someone to purposely not show up? They need every free second of their time to process Lost and Found checks and care for the animals. Not to mention people will think the dogs is safe and then they die. STOP IT OR I WILL TAKE DOWN THIS PAGE!!!! Manhattan 212-722-4939 (hit 0 for operator, do not leave a message. May need to hit 0 a few times)!! (Less)
